Stay youthful
How Can Fruit Help Me stay youthful?
While there are many direct benefits of eating fruits, it may seem strange to think that they can delay the aging process and help you feel and seem more youthful. However, this has been proven in numerous studies.
Youthfulness can be described in several ways. One thing that many consider a factor of youthfulness is energy levels. It has been widely accepted that carbohydrates are stored in a form of sugar called glycogen, which is used for energy for any sort of activity. “Eating carbohydrate-rich fruits replenishes your glycogen levels and keeps you energized” (“Natural Fruits For Energy”).
For example, tart cherries contain anthocyanins, a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and anti-carcinogenic properties. These anthocyanins work by blocking inflammation enzymes. Several studies have linked tart cherry consumption to a decrease in inflammation-related conditions (“Science Behind Tart Cherries”).
Another example is dragon fruit, which also contains lots of antioxidants, which fight free radicals in our bodies. This helps minimize “premature aging and cellular damage” (“Dragon Fruit Benefits for Hair and Skin”).
One more example of how fruits can help preserve youthfulness is in their support against joint pain. If you’re trying to combat joint health, incorporating fruits with high levels of anthocyanins is important. Tart cherries provide “therapeutic amounts of anthocyanins to help manage the pain and inflammation that occur from osteoarthritis and other forms of joint pain” (“How to Improve Joint Health Naturally”).
Fruits can be an essential part of a youthful diet!
